What different growing media can be used in hydroponics?

One important thing that a hydroponicist should learn is the different media that will deal on growing technique of hydroponic plants.

The following are the different growing media used in hydroponics:

*Expanded Clay- enable nutrients to be controlled by the water
*Rockwool- made from basalt rock
*Coco Coir- made from the husk of the coconut
*Perlite- very lightweight volcanic rock
*Vermiculite- often referred as light pebbles *Oasis root cubes- suited for large scale nutrient film growers
